sick with the D&V

So the diarrhoea has finally hit me..i am officially sick.

So we went to Chitwan in the wkend..there’s actually some striking and demonstrations going on at the mo..cos the minority people of Chitwan are not being formally recognised by the govt..(or dats my poor understanding of it) so they didn’t let tourist buses go thru..so instead we took the microbus (which is indeed micro) for abt 4 hrs..and then took rickshaws for the next 3 hrs..a freakin long journey..the poor man riding the rickshaw had to take 4 of us humans plus luggages..and cycle thru the sweltering heat on not very nice roads..we suffered as well since the ride itself wasn’t very pleasant..sitting on metal seats for 3 hrs in a confined space..it aint good for my already boney ass..but eventually we got to our destination and wow..resort..with hot showers! Luckily they let us rest for the first day..the next day was fully packed with activities but highlights are def the elephant safari and elephant shower! I think dats where my diarrhoea originated from..the elephant shower was awesome..sitting on an elephant while she sucks up water thru her trunk and sprays it onto u..falling into the river as she leans onto her side..climbing back up onto the elephant via the trunk while grabbing onto her ears..awesome experience! But I think falling into the river unexpectedly prob was the beginning of my problems..i think I accidentally swallowed some river water when I fell into the river..and this river aint dat clean considering the elephants do their poos and wees in it..hmm..

So dats how I think I got my diarrhoea..so now im off sick from the hospital..but I think im slowly recovering..ive resisted taking antidiarrhoeals for wanting to clear the bugs from my system..but I am taking ciprofloxacin AND metronidazole..even took the gastrolyte stuff which doesn’t taste very nice..

Otherwise it’s another 11 days in Kathmandu! I can’t believe it’s gone by so quickly..which means the elective is slowly passing me by..sigh..it’s been a good holiday so far..im starting to disregard the hospital experience and instead enjoy myself on this 3 month holiday..
