dramas and romance

ive been on hols for the past 2 weeks and so ive been catching up on the sleep..

another thing ive been catching up is my addiction to asian dramas..in the past week or so, ive already finished watching 3 asian dramas..pretty impressive huh? hahaha..



the first one was zettai kareshi (absolute boyfriend), a jap drama, so pretty short at only 11 episodes..it's abt a girl who never gets the guy..who gets the opportunity to create her ideal boyfriend..a robot bf..it's pretty funny and the robot bf keeps telling everyone dat he is her ideal bf..hehe..it's really embarrassing for the girl and the girl is really likeable as a person..very kawaii! but the ending is pretty sad but sweet too..def worth watching!

the second one i completed was hana kimi jap version..i had heard abt the taiwanese version..i even started watching the tw version but never really got into it..just weird seeing ella as a boy cos she really looks like a boy! so thot id try out the jap version..well the story is abt a girl who idolises this high jumper and travels all the way to japan and attends the same school as he does..trouble is it's an all boys school so she dresses up as a man..the jap girl as a boy actually looks quite cute..so doesn't really put me off..haha..altho the main lead is not as good looking as wu zun..hahaha..but the jap version is really funny! and the ending is good! so i like it..apparently the tw version has a sucky ending so another reason why i wasnt dat keen to watch..this drama also another worth watching!

the third one, im close to completion..another 2 episodes before i finish watching devil beside you..yea i kno it's an oldie..but i read on forums dat it was a goodie so i thot id give it a shot..and surprisingly it's pretty good..it's a bit long at 20 episodes and there are a few draggy parts but the chemistry btw the 2 leads is really good and dat makes it interesting to watch..and yang cheng lin is really cute in this drama! so this story is abt a girl who has a crush on the basketball team captain and wanted to reveal her true feelings to him using a love letter..unfortunately the letter falls into the wrong hands of the "devil" who is this bad guy who wants to make life hell for the girl..thus threatening her to become his slave otherwise he would show the letter to the entire school..and of cos they end up liking each other..but their parents want to marry each other so they are to become siblings..so it's a bit abt dat forbidden love as well..told u it was long and draggy..hahaha..but still worth watching it for the cute and funny bits..im not sure wat's the ending yet but if it sucks, ill put an edit note..haha..


so all these rom com dramas remind me of an article i read a few wks ago..about how watching these rom coms can ruin ur love life..cos it makes u have false expectations abt how relationships are spose to be..

yea i guess it has some sense to it..i for one havent heard of any stories dat ive seen in dramas happen in real life to anyone i kno..but surely they were inspired by real life? (the wishful side of me talking now..haha..)

so wat happened to real life? do we have unrealistic views or expectations of how romance shuld be? does life really end in happy endings? in the world we live in today, i havent heard of anyone with a robot bf, or anyone who has purposely dressed up as a guy in order to attend the same school as their idol..i dunno anyone who would write a love letter to tell the person they had a crush about their feelings..i have heard of ppl writing dat via email..which is pretty unromantic..along with txt dating and msn relationships..sigh..wat has the world come to..

im sure ppl in the old days were more romantic than ppl today..im sure ppl treasured their loved ones more..divorce rates now are super high..now marriage doesnt necessarily lead to happily ever after..

life has become too easy for us..we demand more out of everything in life..we expect things to run faster, to last longer..and if it doesn't work out the way we wanted it to, we give up soon and move on to the next thing..maybe dats how we have come to think of relationships..which is a pity really..

hmm..i seem to be talking in circles..haha..maybe i dnt really kno wat im talking abt but i just think relationships nowadays arent treasured like how they shuld be..ppl end up together just for the sake of it..and not becos they really like each other..ppl break up just becos they didnt like one thing abt dat person..

so romance only lives in the dramas i watch..heck it dat it doesnt exist in real life..at least i can fantasise abt it when im watching my dramas..
