the fact dat cny this yr falls on a monday doesnt help either..got a mix of the mon blues and wishing dat today is a public holiday just like in sg..the good news is dat i finished at the hospital at a record breaking 8.45am..
i miss the atmosphere of cny..even tho the music annoys me to death, it just aint the same without hearing the traditional cny songs playing in the malls or seeing the decorations overwhelming with redness..the only deco i saw today was in the physio dept with a small sign hanging dat said "xin nian kuai le" in chinese characters..which made me smile..
i miss the food dat comes with cny..the goodies dat include love letters, bak kwa, pineapple tarts, shrimp paste rolls, black seeds, the list can go on and on..ive already requested my mum to send over some stuff..haha..either dat or keep some till i go back to sg..and then there's the constant eating..with dinners at chinese restaurants..and having steamboat at my grandma's place for reunion dinner..and then having the vegetarian meal at my other grandma's place on the 1st day..with fake prawns, fake meat, fake everything..cos it's all vegetarian..haha..and who can forget the must have dish of yusheng..always order it at chinese restaurants for all the dinners prior to cny..
it's like playing with food..making the mess when u mix it up and "lo hei"..and i love the raw fish and crispy crackers with the sweet sauce..mmm..yum..and it's healthy cos it's a salad!
spending cny alone in chch makes me realise how cny is really a time for family..i miss my family..i miss eating with them..and getting ang bao from them..HAHA!
instead on this 1st day of cny, i shall be doing work and doing some chores..but i def wont be sweeping anything anytime soon..

Finishing at 8.45am...thats pretty much having the whole day free for u to enjoy as well isn't it?
yea i was quite free initially..but now the storm has hit..gonna be really busy from now on..
