i officially have the weirdest accent..part kiwi, part singaporean, part american..oh dear me..i cant even remember wat a kiwi accent sounds like or how to put one on..hahaha..
when i started today, the elective coordinator told me i don't have a new zealand accent..haha..i wonder if i ever had a true kiwi accent?!
the other day when i went to the optometrist (long story: basically one of my contact lenses dried up and crusted), one of the girls there asked me where i'm from, i just said singapore to make things easy (so i dont have to explain the whole moving to nz thing) and she said she could tell..apparently my face is singaporean and when i was talking on the phone with my fren, she could tell i was singaporean from the way i talked..i was like err ok..and i wasn't even talking singlish..but then again, she was half singaporean so maybe dats y..haha..
and then again, i met a singaporean volunteer in nepal and he said dat when he saw me, he knew i was singaporean..gee..i must have a singaporean face..watever dat means..dunno if dats a good or bad thing..hahahaha!
so yea think im slowly adopting an american accent..just so ppl can understand me better..haha..someone even asked me for directions to central park while i was waiting at the traffic light..haha in my head i was thinking, im prob the worst person to ask for directions..hahaha..maybe it means im blending in and looking like a local here..haha..
i just hope ppl can still understand me when i go to sg or when i go back home to nz..haha..
