marriage and kids

at my age, more and more of my peers are getting engaged. or married. or having babies. it really scares me. haha. even my flatmate is now engaged and may be getting married by the end of the year!

im 24 and ive just started working. do u kno how much weddings cost?!?! but hang on, im jumping ahead of myself. i still need something (or i shuld say someone) before i get married. but wat is the point of getting married? to tie someone to u? to be together forever till death do u part? a lot of ppl end up getting divorces these days anyways. the marriage vow is no longer taken as seriously as it shuld be. personally, i would only want to marry someone i truly love. yes i still believe in love, altho i no longer believe in the one. altho i have to say the idea of a big wedding sounds very exciting. and yes every girl has their dream wedding.

and then babies? hmm..some have babies before the wedding. some have babies straight after the wedding. i want babies. but im definitely not ready for them. i still feel like a kid in a lot of ways. i may be independent but i still ask my parents for help when i need it. im just managing to take care of myself. i dont need a kid rite now. i still wanna do my own thing before i have a kid who will definitely tie me down. but then again, they are very cute. hmm im def leaning towards paediatrics these days.

in the meantime, i will just do my own thing. yea there's definitely social pressure to get married, have kids, settle down. and i do want those things. but not rite now. im happy doing my thing for now.
