bad boys vs. nice guys

the other day when i was bored and reading blogs, i came across this article from sam and the city dat talked abt wat i had been wanting to write abt for a while now.

Modern female attraction: playboys vs loyal boys.

so most girls usually have a thing for the bad boy type. u see it even on tv where the innocent girl initially despises the bad boy but ends up falling in love with him. how cliched. and the theory of why girls fall for the bad boy is, cos the girl wants to be the one who can change him. i guess being the girl who manages to change a bad boy to being good is a big deal. it's like being able to stop a guy from smoking. or being the one who changes a gay guy to being heterosexual. haha. maybe it's the pride associated with it? haha.

i do admit yea there's a certain attraction abt the bad boy. he tends to be more confident, more flirtateous, and basically more exciting. which prob is part of the problems dat turn up later down the track. he's also likely to give u a higher level of stress along with the continual fear dat he may cheat on u.

and then there's the nice guy. it's funny how guys hate it when they are being termed the nice guy. prob cos nice guys are associated more with being the good fren, never the bf. but the thing is, nice guys are prob better bfs in the long run. first they r nice! they r more likely to treat u better and there's more security in the relationship and prob less stress associated with it as well. the only thing abt nice guys is, they tend to be nice to everyone so it's highly likely other ppl will walk all over him and even worse, other girls may like him too. but still, think it's less likely they will cheat on u.

but then again, u wouldnt want a guy who's only nice to u when he likes u and is not nice to u when he has lost interest, cos dat would be not very nice, would it? so a nice guy who is nice to everyone is good but as long as he's not flirting with every other girl.

havent been with a nice guy before and am sick of the bad boy. definitely overrated. been there, done dat. so wherefore art thou is my nice guy?
