so im finally on holiday! and in singapore. altho im meant to be enjoying myself, i seem to be a little stressed from my gen med essay. even tho i forgot to bring most of the paperwork with me and have no idea when the due date is. hmm.
anyways been shopping. bought quite a few clothes ytd. burnt a hole in my pocket. tmr im aiming to buy a new camera! yay! dats if i can get a good deal.
today had a haircut. nothing too drastic. just added some fringe. hopefully it wont grow too fast for grad. haha. and it's amazing wat a good blowdry can do for my hair. then met up with a few frens and went to clarke quay for dinner.
it was a long process of finding which restaurant to go to. initially we decided on the pump room, which we later discovered was an australian/new zealand restaurant. the menu included fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, lamb shanks, pavlova, sticky date pudding and even apple crumble. haha. we were already seated and regretted coming in since we haf lived in nz. haha. the food wasnt new to us. and why eat dat kind of food in sg when we can eat it in nz? haha. so we actually just walked out. it was really embarrassing.
so we then walked in circles and finally decided on shiraz, a persian bar and restaurant. the ambience was actually pretty good. we were seated at a really nice spot with cushions so it was really comfy. lighting wasnt too bright and it wasnt too dim either.
ambience: 8/10
the food was also pretty good. we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food tasted. i had a dish of mixed lamb and chicken kebabs, which was served with really yummy basmati rice, and a salad. mel had the grilled veg platter. and grace had the chicken with eggplant stew. portions were huge. and we actually couldnt finish. there was also a complimentary appetiser of naan style bread with basil leaves, feta, pickles, and spring onions. and then for dessert, we tried their version of baklava which was super duper sweet! sickly sweet.
food: 8/10
presentation: 8/10
service was also good. the waiter was actually kinda funny cos he kept offering to take photos for us after we asked him once. and he even put back the wine glasses for the photo. haha. water was never empty and good service overall.
service: 9/10
the funniest part of the evening came when there was a sudden announcement dat there would be a belly dance performance. then suddenly a chinese woman dressed in belly dancing attire started gyrating her hips and doing body rolls around the tables. we couldnt help laughing and then she ended up dancing rite in front of our table, even pumping her chest. it was so awkward and slightly disturbing for me to have her dance in her skimpy but pretty outfit so close to us. haha. but then we concluded dat she has amazing courage to dance in a restaurant. haha.
anyways after eating there, we were walking ard and dats when i discovered dat i had lost the scarf dat was tied to my bag. i have only had the bag for 3 mths. and i bought it becos of the pretty scarf. so now dat it's gone, im uber depressed. :( so sad. looks like it's time to look for another bag. sigh. more shopping then...

I never say no to hunting for new stuff to buy hehe, so yeah go hunt for a new bag. But don't throw the other bag away. Scout for new scarfs to replace the lost one. :)
